Florida QB Jake Allen announces he will transfer

Florida Gators redshirt freshman quarterback Jake Allen announced on Twitter Tuesday that he will be leaving the program and looking to transfer.

Allen thanked those who recruited him and says he recognizes there is not a fit with him and the new offense under Dan Mullen, so he is looking for a new opportunity.

Allen was a three-star recruit out of high school according to 247 Sports. He was offered scholarships by schools like Miami, Clemson, Georgia and Notre Dame, so you can figure schools will have interest in him as a transfer.

Allen had fallen behind on the Gators’ quarterback depth chart, which is leading to his move.
