Jim Mora goes off on Twitter impostor for talking trash to Robert Woods

UCLA already has enough to worry about when it comes to their football opponents, so the last thing they need is fake Twitter accounts stirring things up with rival players. Bruins head coach Jim Mora recognizes that, and he went off on a Twitter impostor for posing as freshman safety Randall Goforth and initiating trash talk with opponents.

The impostor Twitter account @RandallG300 that was posing as Goforth has been suspended since Mora complained. Here were some of the trash-talking tweets sent from the account to USC wide receiver Robert Woods (via Bruins Nation):

As you can see in the exchange above, the impostor even got a response from Woods, who must have thought it was real.

The fake account even gave impetus to Jim Mora’s first tweet since August:

That tweet was mild compared to Mora’s harsh reaction on Tuesday.

“I think it’s a joke that someone would do that,” Mora said, via the LA Times. “I think they are the lowest form of life. If you portray yourself as 18-year-old young man … trying to stir it up by attributing comments to him that are not his, I think you ought to go to jail.

“Bring his … out here,” Mora said. “He won’t make it very far with this team. He’s a coward. That’s what a coward does. I challenge that guy to come out here, whoever he is. He won’t. The guy’s a coward. Or girl, whoever it is.”

Mora says he called Lane Kiffin to explain things to the USC coach.

Goforth called the situation “shocking.”

“I’m just a freshman, I have no reason to be talking,” he said.

UCLA is 7-2 and visits 2-7 Washington State on Saturday. The Bruins and Trojans will meet the following weekend at the Rose Bowl. Hopefully no impostor accounts pop up before then, lest they feel the wrath of Mora.
