Jimbo Fisher not talking other jobs: ‘I love being at Florida State’
Jimbo Fisher was asked Tuesday about a report saying that he is the top target for the LSU job, and the coach did not offer much.
“I did,” Fisher said when asked if he saw the report, “when I walked out of a meeting. Had no idea.”
Fisher then expressed his happiness at his current job as head coach at Florida State and said he would not talk about other jobs.
“I’m not going to talk about any jobs,” Fisher said via the Orlando Sentinel. “I love being at Florida State. I plan on being here and I’m just getting ready for Syracuse. That’s the last thing I’m going to say on that. I love being here.”

Fisher is signed through 2022 and could make up to $44 million at Florida State. He has had tremendous success during his six-plus seasons at Florida State, including winning the 2013 national championship and the Orange Bowl the previous season.
The report about Fisher’s ties to the LSU job came from the Times-Picayune, which says Fisher is likely to take the job with the Tigers as long as LSU meets his financial demands. That includes paying his buyout at FSU; beating his current salary at FSU; and providing millions for Fisher to pay a top-notch coaching staff. Fisher was said to be in negotiations for the LSU job last season before the school opted to keep Les Miles.
