Johnny Manziel reportedly has a friend he refers to as ‘Turtle’

Johnny ManzielJohnny Manziel has been described by many as the real-life Vinny Chase. For those of you who inexplicably are not fans of the HBO hit series “Entourage,” Vincent Chase is the main character in the show. He is/was an actor who parlayed his fame and fortune into a life of luxury with his childhood friends always in tow. One of said friends goes by “Turtle” in the show.

According to CBSSports.com’s Bruce Feldman, Manziel has embraced the “Entourage” comparisons and even refers to one of his own buddies as “Turtle.”

Earlier this spring, I wrote that Manziel is a cross between a Dan Jenkins character and Vinny Chase. In truth, Manziel’s living the Entourage life right now for real. (He even refers to one of his best friends as “Turtle.”)

Who wouldn’t love the life that Manziel has been leading since he burst onto the scene at Texas A&M last season and became the first freshman to ever win the Heisman Trophy? Whether it be attending an NBA Finals game, getting the chance to play at one of the best golf courses in the world or partying it up in New Orleans, Manziel truly has been living a celebrity lifestyle.

The key is for him to keep it under control. Manziel comes from a wealthy family, so he has the resources to enjoy many of the finer things in life — even if it means hearing criticism from fans who accuse him of taking improper benefits. Texas A&M has spoken to Manziel about his post-Heisman behavior, and he seems to have toned it down a bit. That doesn’t mean the friend he refers to as “Turtle” isn’t still enjoying the good life.
