Josh Rosen acknowledges his ‘abysmal’ play vs. Aggies
Josh Rosen entered the college football season regarded as one of the best quarterbacks in the country. But early in UCLA’s season-opening game against Texas A&M on Saturday, he looked anything but that.
Rosen finished 26 of 46 for 343 yards with one touchdown and a hideous three interceptions in a 31-24 overtime loss to the Aggies at Kyle Field.
After the game, the Bruins’ sophomore QB acknowledged he played “abysmal” in the first half.
Rosen: "I played a pretty abysmal first half. I just can’t try and compete to be the best quarterback in the country and throw three picks."

In addition to the interceptions, Rosen missed receivers on multiple throws and was unable to capitalize on several chances early in the game as the Bruins settled for three field goals. UCLA’s receivers also did not help Rosen much, as they had some key drops, including one that led to one of the interceptions.
Rosen’s poor play the first three quarters of the game makes you wonder whether he really was bothered by the Aggies’ 12th Man crowd, which was motivated more than usual in light of Rosen’s comments during the week.
