Report: Josh Rosen leaves UCLA game with finger injury
As if losing badly to Washington wasn’t bad enough, UCLA had an even worse problem to deal with: an injury to Josh Rosen.
Rosen left UCLA’s game against Washington in the third quarter with what ESPN said was a finger injury. He was replaced by Devon Modster.
Rosen came out and joined the Bruins on the sidelines about 40 minutes after going into the locker room to have his finger examined. When he came back out, he was in street clothes. ABC/ESPN shared a video of the junior quarterback clapping on the sidelines and then looking down at his left hand afterwards.
Rosen missed most of his sophomore season after injuring his shoulder, which required surgery. He was just 12 of 21 for 93 yards and a touchdown when he left the game.
ESPN’s announcers later were critical of Rosen for not playing through the injury and for not showing better leadership during the game.
