Josh Rosen has nerve issue in his shoulder

Josh Rosen

UCLA quarterback Josh Rosen has not played in the team’s last two games, and now we know why.

UCLA head coach Jim Mora said on Monday that Rosen has a nerve issue in his shoulder that needs time to heal. UCLA has the upcoming weekend off but faces Colorado next Thursday. It’s uncertain whether Rosen will be able to play in that game.

“My understanding is that once it starts going he should be good pretty darn quick,” Mora said of the nerve in Rosen’s shoulder, via the Los Angeles Times. “So hopefully that’s soon.”

Rosen was knocked out of UCLA’s game against Arizona State twice. The first time appeared to be because of a leg injury, but the second may have been due to his shoulder. He has missed two games since then — both losses for the Bruins. The team also lost to the Sun Devils with him only seeing slight action.

Rosen is regarded as one of the top quarterbacks in the country. He has thrown for 10 touchdown passes and five interceptions on the season.
