Kyler Murray transferring to Oklahoma

Kyler Murray

Former Texas A&M quarterback Kyler Murray will transfer to Oklahoma, the school announced Thursday.

Oklahoma’s official athletics website confirmed in a statement that Murray has signed a financial aid agreement with the school. He will be eligible for the 2017 season.

It’s a coup for Bob Stoops’s Sooners. Oklahoma had recruited Murray out of high school, and this actually aligns perfectly. Baker Mayfield will be a senior next season, assuming he elects to return to school, and Murray would be able to step right in to the position upon Mayfield’s graduation.

Murray announced his intent to transfer last week, allegedly due to issues with coach Kevin Sumlin.
