Report: Lane Kiffin to FAU talks hit snag
After missing out on the Houston job, Lane Kiffin was in negotiations for the Florida Atlantic head coaching gig, but those talks apparently have hit a snag.
Football Scoop reported Saturday that “FAU and Lane Kiffin were in talks deep into Friday night but negotiations have hit a stumbling block.”
ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit reported that Kiffin had a deal in place with a school but talks broke down.

Some were skeptical that Kiffin would take the FAU job, which many considered a major step down from his past gigs at prominent programs like USC and Tennessee, as well as his current job as Alabama’s offensive coordinator. Kiffin was also said to be in serious consideration for the Houston job, but a regent chair described the coach as too risky.
