Laremy Tunsil’s stepfather Lindsey Miller helping NCAA build case against Ole Miss

Laremy Tunsil

Lindsey Miller, the stepfather of former Ole Miss offensive lineman Laremy Tunsil, has been cooperating with the NCAA and helping them build their case against the Rebels football program.

Ole Miss has been under investigation from the NCAA for nearly four years. They have already tried to strike preemptively by self-imposing multiple penalties, including taking away scholarships, disciplining coaches, paying fines and placing themselves on probation. Perhaps they were being proactive because they know what kind of case the NCAA has against them, and much of it is thanks to Miller.

Miller married Tunsil’s mother in 2014, though the two are now estranged. He told SI that he met/talked with the NCAA for over a hundred hours about the violations he had first-hand knowledge of.

From SI’s report by Pete Thamel:

Among the things Miller says he told the NCAA: Ole Miss had an intricate system in which the school arranged for Tunsil and his family through boosters to get loans, money and free lodging at hotels and residences around Oxford, Miss. He claims he told the NCAA of benefits that spanned nearly three years.

Miller says he, his estranged wife, and his two sons from a previous relationship moved to Oxford in 2014 with the help of Ole Miss boosters. He says he provided the NCAA with bank and financial statements, text messages, emails and Facebook messages that support his claims. He also told the NCAA much of the benefits were set up with boosters he met through Chris Kiffin, who has been disciplined by the program.

Tunsil’s stepfather really has been a source of problems for the lineman. Miller has sued Tunsil over a domestic incident between them. I’m sure all this has you thinking that he’s the one who released the video of Tunsil smoking out of a bong on draft night, as well as the incriminating text messages, but Miller’s attorney said his client was not responsible.
