Fournette exploded as a sophomore, setting single-season school records for rushing yards (1,953) and rushing touchdowns (22) on the way to First Team All-American honors. This season, Fournette was hampered by ankle injury. However, he has still amassed 873 yards and eight touchdowns in seven games.
As impressive as some of the yardage totals Fournette has put up have been, the highlights he has produced might be even better. Against Auburn last season, he shrugged off defenders as if they were rag dolls. You can see videos from that game here. This year, Fournette demolished a Mississippi State defender with a vicious stiff-arm and obliterated an Ole Miss defender by lowering his shoulder.
Ed Orgeron and LSU fans will be sad to see Fournette not stick around for another season. The rest of the SEC surely won’t feel the same way.
