Leonard Fournette day-to-day for Citrus Bowl

Leonard Fournette

Leonard Fournette’s availability for the Citrus Bowl isn’t yet known, as the LSU running back is currently day-to-day.

LSU head coach Ed Orgeron was asked Sunday about Fournette’s status for the Tigers’ bowl game against Louisville and said the team isn’t sure.

“We’re going to see,” Orgeron said Sunday, via The Advocate’s Ross Dellenger. “He’s been rehabbing his ankle. It’s getting better, but we’ll have to wait until practice. It will be day by day. We’re going to see when we start practice, see if he’s ready to go. Hopefully he is.”

Fournette did not play in LSU’s most recent game against Texas A&M because of his ankle injury, which has caused him to miss four games.

The junior running back has rushed for 843 yards and eight touchdowns this season. Derrius Guice is the team’s leading rusher with 1,249 yards and 14 touchdowns.
