LSU’s Arden Key: Ole Miss won’t be able to block me

Arden Key

LSU sophomore pass rusher Arden Key has been enjoying a big season for the Tigers, and he expects that to continue on Saturday against Ole Miss.

In fact, now that Miami Dolphins rookie Laremy Tunsil is in the NFL and no longer with Ole Miss, Key doesn’t think the Rebels will have anyone who can block him.

“This game, I feel like I’m supposed to have three sacks,” Key said Wednesday via the Advocate. “I don’t see a Laremy Tunsil anymore. We went back and forth last year, but I feel like they ain’t going to be able to block me.”

Key leads the SEC with seven sacks on the season, which also places him fifth in the NCAA. He only has a half-sack in the past two games, but he says that is because opposing offenses are now keying in on him by sending double-teams and chipping him with tight ends.

“It’s kind of frustrating that I’m not getting (sacks), but they’re game planning off of me,” Key said. “I’m still getting pressures and what not, still affecting the quarterback. But I’m also opening up the gateway for my other teammates.”

Key and his teammates will look to contain Ole Miss QB Chad Kelly, who can be one of the most explosive quarterbacks in the conference.
