Michigan pulled scholarship offer from Brady Hoke recruit
Michigan and Jim Harbaugh are making a lot of news on the recruiting trail, but not all of it is positive. One of the consequences of trying to build up a program is making changes, and that means some players recruited by the previous coach are no longer wanted.
Unfortunately, that seems to be what happened to Erik Swenson.
Swenson is a four-star offensive tackle from Illinois who had been committed to Michigan since 2013 when he was recruited by Brady Hoke’s staff. He stuck with his commitment to the school even after the coaching change, but he says his offer and official visit to the school were cancelled two weeks before signing day.

As a result, Swenson said on Twitter Wednesday that he was reopening his recruitment:

That has to be disappointing for Swenson. He had been committed to the school for a few years and was a big supporter of the Wolverines. But circumstances and plans change, and part of life is being able to adjust.
With a few weeks left in the recruiting period, there is little doubt another school will come along and sign Swenson. It might not be the school he originally planned to attend, but he’ll likely be a full-scholarship football player regardless.
