Report: Multiple teams have asked Lamar Jackson to work out as WR

Lamar Jackson

Lamar Jackson is committed to proving he can play quarterback at the NFL level, but some teams may have other plans for the former Louisville star.

Jeremy Bergman of NFL.com reports that multiple NFL teams have already asked Jackson to work out as a wide receiver in addition to a quarterback at the NFL Scouting Combine. Jackson has not yet said if he will grant the requests.

Jackson has been mentioned as a potential late first or early second-round pick as a quarterback, so he may not have much incentive to work out for teams at another position. The former Heisman Trophy winner did not catch a pass in college, but he’s a tremendous athlete who rushed for 4,132 yards and scored 50 rushing touchdowns in 38 games.

Judging by the way he already reacted to talk about a position change, it would not be a surprise if Jackson respectfully declined to work out as a receiver.
