Nebraska captain tells crowd ‘I’m sorry we suck’ after defeat
It’s been a difficult start for the Nebraska Cornhuskers this season, with the team suffering a last second loss to Illinois on Saturday.
Things only got worse afterwards, as offensive lineman and team captain Alex Lewis was spotted grinning, waving to fans, and blowing kisses while saying “I’m sorry we suck.”

If day weren't difficult enough, I'm told by multiple people that OT Alex Lewis walked off field with wry grin, blowing kisses to fans.

This looks bad, especially coming from a team captain. Lewis has a history here, as just last week he was spoken to about a rant he posted on social media in which he called Husker fans “fair weather.” Lewis’s captaincy may have survived that controversy, but coach Mike Riley may not give him another chance after this.
