Ohio State DL Kosta Karageorge believed to have committed suicide
The body of missing Ohio State defensive lineman Kosta Karageorge was found on Sunday in a dumpster in Columbus.
Karageorge had been missing since early Wednesday morning when he was last seen leaving his apartment to go take a walk. A gun was found near the scene and it appeared as if Karageorge died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Karageorge was a redshirt senior who walked on to the football team this year. He had been a member of the wrestling team since 2011.
Karageorge’s parents filed a missing persons report on Wednesday and told police their son had several concussions and had been confused. Kosta apparently texted his mother shortly before leaving his apartment. His message referenced his concussions and said, “I am sorry if I am an embarrassment.”

Taken hours before you passed. One of the realist friends I had down here we always had each other's back. Rest easy. pic.twitter.com/xjnsModb32
