Oregon honors Sam Foltz prior to game against Nebraska
In July, the Nebraska football team lost a member of its family when punter Sam Foltz died in a car crash along with former Michigan State punter Mike Sadler. Foltz was honored on Saturday, not by the Cornhuskers, but by their opponents.
Prior to the game between Oregon and Nebraska, the Ducks made a touching tribute to Foltz by placing flowers at the 27-yard line. Foltz wore uniform No. 27.
Such a classy gesture by Oregon kicker & head coach to place flowers @ 27 yd line in warmups. Well done. #SF27 pic.twitter.com/tQUc0hhw3S

During their first game of the season, Nebraska’s football team delivered this moment in remembrance of their former teammate.
Foltz was named the Big Ten’s punter of the year for last season and was on the watch list for the Ray Guy Award. He an Sadler were killed while driving home from a kicking camp in Wisconsin.
