Pig Howard fumble gives game to Georgia in great finish
Tennessee nearly pulled off an upset win over Georgia on Saturday, but a fumble by Vols running back Pig Howard at the goal line gave the game to the Bulldogs.
Howard carried the ball on a 2nd and goal from the 7 and appeared to score a touchdown to put the Vols up 38-31. The initial call on the field was touchdown, but the score was overturned after replay showed Howard lost the ball before breaking the plane. The fumble resulted in a touchback, giving Georgia the ball. Although the Vols defense stopped the Bulldogs, Georgia still kicked a 42-yard field goal to win it 34-31 in overtime.
