Steve Sarkisian wants to coach again, says he reevaluated his life

Steve-Sarkisian

Former USC football coach Steve Sarkisian says he is currently in a great place in life, and it is clear he would like to coach again one day.

Sarkisian, who recently landed a gig as a college football analyst with FOX Sports 1, was asked by TMZ this week if he has thought about returning to coaching.

“I love coaching. I love being around the game of football,” he said. “FOX gave me an opportunity to be around it and we’ll see where it goes from there. You never know.”

When the photographer asked — without actually asking — how Sarkisian is doing with his alcohol-related problems, the 42-year old said he has been able to “reevaluate” some things since losing his job last year.

“Life’s good,” Sark said. “I’m just taking some time to focus on myself and to do the things necessary in all aspects of my life. … I think the biggest thing is to reevaluate yourself and look at all aspects of your life. That’s what I was fortunate enough to do and it really paid off for me.”

Sarkisian basically drank his way out of a job at USC, and there were reports that his problem drinking dated back to his days at Washington. For what it’s worth, he’s still very young for the coaching game. If teams can get past the disturbing stories we heard from USC and believe that Sarkisian has straightened out his act, there’s no reason to believe he won’t coach again.
