Tennessee dismisses Danny O’Brien from team
Tennessee dismissed senior defensive lineman Danny O’Brien from the team, the school announced Monday.
O’Brien was carted off the field during the Vols’ double-overtime loss to Texas A&M Saturday with a leg injury, but his dismissal does not have anything to do with the injury.
O’Brien, who has 61 career tackles and four sacks for the Vols, was also suspended last season for a violation of team rules.
The school said in a statement they would provide his medical care if anything is needed.
O’Brien tweeted Sunday to show his appreciation for Vols fans concerned about his health:
Thank you for all the thoughts and prayers. I appreciate all the support. I'll be all good. #BeatBama
