Texas A&M chancellor John Sharp zings Texas over alcohol sales
Texas A&M and Texas may no longer be playing each other in football since the Aggies switched conferences, but that does not mean the rivalry between the schools is any less contentious.
News was announced on Wednesday that the Longhorns would begin selling alcohol at football games in Royal-Memorial Stadium in the fall. Aggies chancellor John Sharp (seen above in his ‘picture me rollin’ pose) was asked about the possibility of selling booze at his school’s football games, and he unloaded this gem via Tex Ags Radio’s Gabe Bock:
“Our athletic program has not reached the point where we require the numbing effects of alcohol.”
Boom. Guess they can get away with that sort of comment when they have won four straight bowl games and Texas is coming off a 6-7 season.
These two need to resume that rivalry on the field like they’ve talked about. Now.
