Texas football lands commitment from son of former NBA player
The Texas Longhorns landed yet another top quarterback prospect on Monday, this one the son of a former NBA veteran.
Dia Bell, a five-star quarterback prospect in the class of 2026, officially committed to Texas on Monday. The son of NBA defensive standout Raja Bell is ranked as the No. 3 quarterback in the class by 247 Sports as he enters his junior season at Plantation (Fla.) American Heritage. He also had interest from the likes of Ohio State, LSU, and Auburn.

Texas is quickly establishing itself as a huge destination for quarterback recruits, as they landed Arch Manning and have even kept him from transferring. In all likelihood, he will be gone by the time Bell enrolls, so the Longhorns are setting themselves up very well for the future.
Bell might also be intrigued by the show Texas puts on for its recruits. Whatever the case, it has worked in this case.
