Tim Tebow praises Johnny Manziel: ‘I like his swag’

Tim Tebow rarely — if ever — has a negative thing to say about anyone. A compliment from Tebow is like a hug from a Hooters girl. You feel good when you get one, but you know better than to think it’s something special. If Tebow says you have swag, however, you might have something worth bragging about.

Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel has quickly established himself as one of the better signal-callers in college football. Last Saturday, the freshman led the Aggies to one of the biggest wins in their program’s history with a road victory over then No. 1-ranked Alabama. Tebow watched that game, and he liked what he saw from Manziel.

“I got to see some of the Alabama game last week. I saw a little bit of the Florida game. I’ve seen a little bit of him, but not too much,” Tebow told Yahoo! Sports when asked about Manziel. “From what I’ve seen, he’s a heck of a player. He’s a competitor. He’s a playmaker. He just finds ways to get things done. You have to tip your hat to their coaches and coordinators. They have an awesome scheme and a lot of great playmakers.

“There’s just something about him that you think he has a chance. I like his swag. It’s fun to watch.”

Now that’s a compliment.

The 19-year-old is already incredibly popular on the Texas A&M campus and is gaining more national attention by the day, hence why he and his family are working to trademark the phrase “Johnny Football.” The Aggies have themselves ranked in the top 10 with only two games remaining and have surprised everyone by being one of the best teams in the SEC in their first year in college football’s best conference. Manziel’s swag is one of the main reasons for their success, and that trend should continue in the coming seasons.
