UCLA S Adarius Pickett tweets complaint after being ejected
UCLA safety Adarius Pickett was ejected early in the Bruins’ game against Stanford on Saturday night, and he wasted no time heading to social media to voice his complaints.
First off, you need to see the play that got Pickett ejected. The junior was closing in on Stanford tight end Dalton Schultz to make a tackle after a pass completion late in the first quarter inside the red zone. Schultz dipped his helmet low, which resulted in helmet-to-helmet contact.
Terrible call! NOT targeting! #9 lowers his head into @Pick6Pickett which hit would have been below the numbers! @NCAAFootball wake up! pic.twitter.com/SngLWpTYyf

It certainly seemed like Pickett’s tackle was reasonable and would not have been targeting if not for Schultz dipping his head down. That’s what Pickett thought:
I get kicked out the game because I’m hitting to hard against a guy that is 6’6 are you kidding me. Tell me how I’m suppose to play please

UCLA continues to have a rough time with the targeting matter. They’ve had multiple players ejected this season for targeting, while an opponent was not penalized for targeting when he should have been, leading to serious complaints from Jim Mora.
