Urban Meyer had great reaction to Oregon-Florida State score (Video)
Ohio State coach Urban Meyer was still enjoying his team’s upset victory over top-ranked Alabama on Thursday night when a reporter informed him of what his next opponent had just done to Jameis Winston and company.
When Meyer learned that Oregon had blown out Florida State by a score of 59-20, his reaction was priceless.
“Oregon won by 40?” Meyer said. “I gotta go. We gotta go get ready for that one. My goodness.”
Meyer certainly showed the Ducks more respect than Florida State did after the game.
In reality, the blowout had more to do with Florida State mistakes than with Oregon’s high-powered attack. That’s not to say the Ducks weren’t explosive, but the Seminoles were right in the game until two second-half fumbles from freshman running back Dalvin Cook killed important drives.
Ohio State and Oregon should be a great matchup. Neither team struggled to score points on Thursday, and both were playing quality defenses. I’d be stunned if the BCS National Championship Game wasn’t a shootout.
