Virginia Tech coach Shane Beamer got a little too excited after touchdown
Virginia Tech football coach Shane Beamer tends to show just a little more emotion on the sidelines than his father.
Beamer, 36, went crazy celebrating the Hokies’ first touchdown against Alabama on Saturday, a 77-yard run by Trey Edmunds. It’s understandable why Beamer, the running backs coach and associate head coach, would be excited about one of his guys breaking a long run for a TD, but sheesh, chest bumping, kicking, and butt slapping? That’s just a little much. After he locked legs with Edmunds, I thought they were going to do the Kid ‘n Play dance for a second.
Beamer is in his third season at Virginia Tech after four with South Carolina. He was a long snapper and receiver for his father at VT. And he drinks a lot of Red Bull before games.
