Got some curveballs. I got admitted to the hospital from the recovery room & was set to spend the night but passed the tests & got to leave

Sager Jr. got to leave the hospital and prepare for the race Friday morning. As he said, his father had run in 32 Peachtree Road Races in a row and had to miss it. Craig Jr. wanted to make it 10 in a row for himself.
Sr's ran 32 Peachtree Rd Races in a row, I'm at 9. We both couldn't miss it. Plus, I have a 10am post-op at the hospital afterwards anyways

Sager Jr. got up early Friday to run the race, battle wounds and all.

Think I broke 1:20. That's as good as I could've done.

Sager Jr. then headed back to the hospital for his follow-up appointment.

Finally got that compression bandage off! #Freedom pic.twitter.com/ZGgooyYMRX

Sager Jr. then explained why he ran the race against doctors’ wishes.
Knowing that future donors are gonna be nervous just like I was pushed me today. I wanted to finish that race & show there's nothing to fear

And all worked out well:
Exhausting 24 hrs but we got an extra number for him & finished

What was the best part? Both family members were discharged after the successful transplant:
We did it! 1.5 liters of bone marrow successfully transplanted & Team Sager gets discharged at the same #perfect pic.twitter.com/GAlQPiit8b

That’s a nice win for Team Sager.
