David Aminzadeh is con artist Ayesha Curry’s dad was confused for

David Aminzadeh

It turns out that Ayesha Curry’s explanation when she said her dad was racially profiled prior to Game 6 of the NBA Finals in Cleveland on Thursday was not completely accurate. Curry’s father actually was screened by security because they were on the lookout for a notorious con artist named David Aminzadeh, who somewhat resembles Curry’s dad.

Here’s a photo of Ayesha’s dad side-by-side against David Aminzadeh:

If you’re working security and on the look out for Aminzadeh, I could see why you might have stopped Curry’s dad for a closer examination.

Apparently Aminzadeh’s specialty is to make phony credentials for big time events and use them to sneak into games.

He sneaked onto the field when the Seahawks won the Super Bowl:

In the clubhouse at the MLB All-Star Game:

He was behind Jameis Winston after Florida State won the national title:

There’s an entire Tumblr devoted to his exploits.

It’s because of con-artists like David Aminzadeh that credentials for sports events say explicitly that you cannot post an image of them on social media; they don’t want people knowing what they look like so they can’t replicate them.
