TNT fooled by fake Klay Thompson Twitter account (Picture)

Phony Twitter accounts are so prevalent these days, even the best of us have been fooled by them. TNT’s “Inside the NBA” was a victim of a phony tweet on Thursday.

Before the Los Angeles Lakers-Boston Celtics game, the crew was discussing the Rising Stars game for which Shaq and Charles Barkley will be coaches NBA All-Star Weekend. The two TNT analysts chose their rosters, and Shaq selected Golden State Warriors second-year player Klay Thompson. TNT showed the tweet below, which was posted by someone running a phony Thompson account:

Klay Thompson tweet

Not realizing the tweet was not sent by the real Klay Thompson, Shaq and Chuck broke it down as if it were real.

“That’s right! You tell ’em Klay Trey!” said Shaq.

“You know I’m a big Klay fan now, but you’re going to get beat down like a drum,” Barkley responded to the fake trash talker. “You got two point guards who won’t pass you the ball, so don’t worry about shooting.”

Both Shaq and Chuck went on to rave about Thompson, with Barkley saying Thompson “might have the prettiest jumpshot in the NBA.” Shaq, meanwhile, said Thompson was having a “fabulous” year. So is his Twitter ripoff account, which managed to pull a fast one Thursday.
