Wisconsin girl impaled by basketball court (Video)
A 14-year-old girl was taken to the hospital after being impaled by a floor board on a basketball court while diving for a ball during a game in Middleton, Wisc. on Sunday.
Middle school teams were competing in a tournament when a girl from Wisconsin Heights dove after a ball and got stuck because a piece of the floor went through her. She was taken of the court in a stretcher and treated at a hospital, according to WISC. Amazingly there was no blood and no organs were damaged despite the piece of wood being 3-4 inches long.
There was no explanation given for how the floor may have splintered. The floor was installed 15 years ago, making it relatively new.
Amazingly the young girl may be back to playing in a week.
