49ers were reportedly ready to give Colin Kaepernick $100 million deal

Colin KaepernickThe San Francisco 49ers supposedly were prepared to give Colin Kaepernick a $100 million deal prior to his involvement in the sexual assault case.

During a visit on “The Dan Patrick Show” Thursday, San Jose Mercury News columnist Tim Kawakami told DP that the Niners were prepared to give Kaepernick a $100 million deal prior to the investigation.

Word came out last week that Kaepernick was being investigated in connection to a suspicious incident earlier in the month at a Miami hotel. Kaepernick was with two other NFL players when it happened. The woman involved says she woke up in the hospital the morning after hanging out with the guys at their hotel room and had no idea how she got there. Kaepernick ripped the sexual assault report saying that it wasn’t true.

Word later emerged that it was the players who called police because the woman supposedly would not leave.

Kaepernick is entering his fourth season in the league and set to make less than $1 million next season before he becomes a free agent. Kawakami also reported that the Niners are standing by Kaepernick amid the investigation.

We’re guessing CK ultimately gets a big deal from the team. He’s believed to be looking for $20 million per season.
