Report: 49ers fear NaVorro Bowman has torn Achilles
Less than three years after one devastating leg injury for inside linebacker NaVorro Bowman, the San Francisco 49ers are concerned that he may have suffered another.
According to a report by Ian Rapoport of NFL Network on Sunday, the 49ers fear a torn Achilles for Bowman, who will undergo an MRI on Monday.
The initial fear for #49ers LB NaVorro Bowman is that he tore his Achilles, a source said. He'll have an MRI tomorrow. Would be devastating.

The three-time Pro Bowler was hurt on a non-contact play in the team’s 24-17 loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday and had to be carted off the field.

Bowman, who missed the entire 2014 season after tearing his ACL and MCL in the NFC Championship Game but returned to lead the league in tackles in 2015, is the unquestioned anchor of the otherwise suspect San Francisco defense. A second catastrophic injury to the 28-year-old would obviously be crushing, both to him and to the 1-3 Niners.
