Aaron Rodgers planning to drink scotch, watch film after rough game

Aaron Rodgers

Aaron Rodgers was outplayed by a rookie quarterback on Sunday, and the result was a 30-16 loss at home. After the game, the Green Bay Packers quarterback offered no excuses.

So what is he going to do about it?

“Have a glass of scotch and chill out a little bit [and] watch the film,” Rodgers told reporters about his plans going forward, per Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com. “I’m my biggest critic, and I look at this as finely as I look at every other game and improve.”

Might want to make that a double, A-Rod.

Rodgers played so poorly that he was actually booed by the Packers faithful at Lambeau Field. The 32-year-old completed over 73 percent of his passes and threw for 294 yards, but a lot of that was in garbage time. His lone touchdown pass came late in the fourth quarter when the Dallas Cowboys had the game well in hand. Before that, Rodgers lost a fumble inside the five, threw a brutal interception and missed several throws he used to be able to complete with his eyes closed.

Rogers said he was not bothered by the fans turning on him.

“Look, we’re upset, they’re upset, it’s part of it,” he said. “It’s not the first time, probably won’t be the last time.”

For whatever reason, the Packers offense is no longer clicking on a consistent basis. Jordy Nelson has not looked nearly as explosive as he was before tearing his ACL, and Rodgers’ passer rating of 88.4 would be a career low. Based on what Rodgers said Sunday about the passing game, Green Bay fans shouldn’t jump off a bridge just yet. There’s a lot of football left to be played.
