Adrian Peterson appeal denied, remains suspended

Adrian-Peterson-court

Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson will not be playing football again this season.

The NFL announced on Friday that Peterson’s appeal of his season-long suspension has been denied. While the NFL Players Association and Peterson’s camp are likely to explore the possibility of taking the decision to federal court, it’s unlikely the situation will be resolved within the next three weeks.

A previous report indicated that Peterson was likely to be reinstated. The NFLPA is said to have submitted a recording of a conversation between Peterson and NFL executive vice president of football operations Troy Vincent that allegedly features Vincent telling Peterson his time served on the Commissioner’s Exempt List would count toward his punishment.

It didn’t matter.

Peterson’s appeal was heard by league appeals officer Harold Henderson, who has almost always sided with the NFL in these types of cases. While Peterson has vowed to never discipline his son with a switch again, Roger Goodell and company have said they do not feel he has shown enough remorse.
