Adrian Peterson to hold out like Darrelle Revis?

Adrian Peterson

Adrian Peterson apparently means business when it comes to his status with the Minnesota Vikings.

On Sunday it was reported that Peterson would not be attending the team’s OTAs this week and would likely forfeit a $250,000 workout bonus as a result. Another report said Peterson is skipping the OTAs because he wants a trade.

Just in case you thought Peterson was playing around, we have this from his agent, Ben Dogra:

“He is very very strong … he’s like Revis,” Dogra texted Bleacher Report’s Jason Cole.

Revis is a reference to Darrelle Revis, who held out from the Jets prior to the 2010 season and has successfully used the threat of one to get his way with teams. Few players play hardball as well as he does, so trying to emulate him in a business sense is a good goal for athletes.

It’s easy to see why Peterson is still upset with the lack of support he felt from the Vikings during his child abuse case last year, so it’s understandable why he wants out. It will be interesting to see who wins this staredown.
