Adrian Peterson signing with Redskins
Adrian Peterson visited the Redskins on Monday, and apparently they liked what they saw from the veteran running back.
According to Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo of NFL Media, Peterson and the Redskins have agreed to a contract.
He’s back: The #Redskins are signing former Pro Bowl RB Adrian Peterson, source tells me and @MikeGarafolo. Immediate help in the wake of a string of injuries at the position.

Peterson began last season with the New Orleans Saints but was traded to the Arizona Cardinals. He had some issues with the Saints’ coaching staff, which led to him being moved. He rushed for 529 yards on 156 carries last season and had a pair of 100-yard games for the Cardinals before a neck injury ended his season.
Washington was not on Peterson’s list of preferred destinations he mentioned in May, but he didn’t have many options. The Redskins were in the market for a running back after losing rookie Derrius Guice for the season due to a knee injury, and as a result Peterson is getting an opportunity to keep playing in the NFL.
