Adrian Peterson was accused of sexual assault in 2011, cleared in investigation

Now that Adrian Peterson has been indicted on child injury charges, a lot of dirt about him is starting to emerge.

A few days after news broke that he had been indicted, another year-old story about a child injury investigation was released. Outrage over this second story is likely what led the Minnesota Vikings to put the running back on the reserve list.

A week and a half later, the dirt continued to come out.

TMZ reported on Friday that in 2011, Peterson was the target of a criminal sexual assault investigation. They say the alleged incident occurred at a 2011 party in Eden Prairie, Minn.

According to the report, Peterson denied doing anything without the woman’s consent and passed a lie detector test. Two DNA samples reportedly excluded Peterson, while a third was inconclusive.

Authorities closed the case and no charges were filed, according to TMZ.

Because Peterson was never charged and the reported evidence indicates he did not appear to have committed a crime, we should take this as an example of just more negative coverage coming out about Peterson because, well, now’s the time to dump that sort of dirt if you have it.
