Andrew Luck activated off PUP list after passing physical
Step 1 is complete in the Andrew Luck comeback process.
The Indianapolis Colts activated Luck off the PUP list on Saturday. Had he remained on the list, he wouldn’t have been eligible to play in the first six games of the season.
Luck hasn’t practiced with the Colts yet as he recovers from January shoulder surgery, and the expectation is he will miss Week 1. But with him being active on the roster, the Colts are showing they expect Luck to be ready before too long.
Colts owner Jim Irsay has been clear that the team will be patient with Luck and not rush him back before he’s ready, as they’re thinking long term about their quarterback. Scott Tolzien will start Week 1 if Luck is unable to play.
