Colts players reportedly told Andrew Luck will not play vs. Steelers

Andrew Luck

The Indianapolis Colts are likely going to have to face the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday without Andrew Luck.

Luck, who is currently in the NFL’s concussion protocol, was not spotted at the start of practice on Tuesday, which is the Colts’ last formal practice of the short week. Star wide receiver T.Y. Hilton later told a reporter that the team has been informed Luck will not be cleared to play Thursday.

We knew this was the likely scenario when the Colts announced that Luck was in the concussion protocol, as it is almost impossible for a player to be cleared in less than a week.

The Colts are preparing to take on the Steelers with veteran Scott Tolzien under center. The timing of Luck’s injury is incredibly unfortunate, as Indy has won three straight games and is just one game behind the Houston Texans for the top spot in the AFC South.

We have seen Luck take vicious hits like this and keep on going, so there’s no questioning his toughness. But the NFL tries to be strict when it comes to head injuries. If Luck is still experiencing symptoms, he won’t be cleared.
