Andy Reid ordered three steaks during first dinner with Eagles owner
Andy Reid’s reputation as a big eater is evidenced by his protruding belly. And the successful head coach apparently is not shy about his appetite.
Philadelphia Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie spoke with reporters on Thursday ahead of the NFL season-opening game between the Patriots and Reid’s Kansas City Chiefs and told a great story.
Lurie told the reporters he was pulling for Reid and said that when the two went out to dinner for the first time, Reid ordered three steaks.

Reid’s taste for steak and apparent lack of interest in hiding it did not dissuade the Eagles owner from hiring him. Reid became Philly’s head coach ahead of the 1999 season and lasted 14 seasons on the job. The team made the playoffs nine times, winning the division six times, and they reached the Super Bowl once under Reid. That’s quite a career. Reid has since taken his winning act to Kansas City, producing four straight winning seasons and three playoff appearances with the Chiefs. He also has a great sense of humor about his appetite.
