Antonio Brown calls calf injury a ‘minor setback’
The calf injury that Antonio Brown suffered on Sunday is a bit more serious than initially believed, but the Pittsburgh Steelers star does not expect it to keep him down very long.
On Monday, Brown took to Twitter to express confidence in his teammates and label his injury a “minor setback.”
even in adversity I can’t help but feel blessed. Thanks to everyone who reached out. This is a minor setback for me but not this team. The goal is still the same & I’m confident that we can & will achieve it. We may not have won the game yesterday but this TEAM made a statement. pic.twitter.com/L2drCGim2W

Brown was injured early in Sunday’s heartbreaking loss to the New England Patriots when he tried to come up with a pass in the end zone. He had to be helped off the field, and the Steelers ruled him out for the remainder of the game with what they called a “calf bruise.” Brown was taken to the hospital for further examination, and he reportedly has a partially-torn calf muscle.
The Patriots are likely going to wrap up the No. 1 overall seed in the AFC, as they have home games against the Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins to close out the season. Pittsburgh is currently just one game ahead of the Jacksonville Jaguars for the No. 2 seed, and the Jags have the head-to-head tiebreaker from beating the Steelers earlier in the season. The sooner Brown can come back, the better.
