Antonio Brown cited for driving more than 100 mph

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown was issued a citation for speeding this week, and it sounds like he is fortunate he was not arrested.

Police in Ross Township, Penn., told WPXI that Brown was cited for driving in excess of 100 mph in his black Porsche early Thursday morning. Police were on the lookout for a possible suspect from a nearby bank robbery when Brown went speeding by. He was cited for reckless driving.

The Steelers released a statement saying they are gathering more information on the incident.

“We are aware of the situation, but we are still gathering information,” the team said. We won’t have any further comment at this time.”

Brown has irritated the Steelers with some of the embarrassing situations he has gotten himself into off the field over the past year or so, and this will likely add to that. Most recently, the star wide receiver found himself facing a lawsuit from a man who says Brown nearly killed a toddler in a reckless fit of rage while throwing items off an apartment balcony.
