Antonio Cromartie’s wife claims he was released for kneeling during anthem

Antonio Cromartie

The wife of Antonio Cromartie claims that the cornerback was released for kneeling during the national anthem.

In a since-deleted Instagram post, Terricka Cromartie ripped the Colts and blamed his anthem protest for his release.

“You are Nothing More than an Entertainer. Just Shut and do what we say. You have No rights as along as you are working for me.. there are other places for you to fight and stand for what you believe,” the post read, via Mike Wells of ESPN. “One things for sure I know my husband was told Not to take a Knee and he went with his heart and he took one. And that cost him his Job.. and Clearly this Statement backs that up… Just a Paid To put on a show.”

When asked about the comments, the Colts referred reporters to Chuck Pagano’s statement at the time of Cromartie’s release, asserting that it was strictly a football decision.

Terricka Cromartie is paraphrasing owner Jim Irsay, who recently made these comments. Clearly, it was those remarks that led Cromartie to take her grievances public.
