Antonio Cromartie works out with Colts
Despite recent reports that his hip is still a lingering issue, Antonio Cromartie is not ready to call it a career. The veteran cornerback was scheduled to work out for the Indianapolis Colts on Monday.
Stephen Holder of the Indianapolis Star reports that the Colts are planning to bring in several free agent defensive backs for workouts with Vontae Davis considered week-to-week with an ankle injury.
A previous report indicated that Cromartie’s hip still isn’t 100 percent healthy and the 32-year-old’s NFL career may be over because of it. However, Cromartie was quick to shoot down that speculation.
If healthy, Cromartie can still be effective as a physical cornerback who has plenty of experience. On the flip side, a hip injury can be devastating for a defensive back.
