Antrel Rolle: Giants would have gone 10-6 if they re-signed me

Antrel RolleThe New York Giants could have easily won a few more games this season if they didn’t botch so many key situations. But if they re-signed defensive back Antrel Rolle, the G-Men would have won their division.

This, of course, according to Antrel Rolle.

In an interview with WFAN Wednesday morning, Rolle said that the 2015 Giants lacked leadership and he knows “for a fact” that his departure left a void in the locker room.

“If you had more leaders in that (Giants) locker room they wouldn’t have lost the close games that they did,” he said, per Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News. “I don’t think they miss (my voice). I know for a fact they miss it.”

Rolle was then asked specifically how the season would have gone if he stuck around.

Rolle was certainly valuable in New York. He had nine interceptions and more than 180 combined tackles during his final two seasons with the Giants. But would he have prevented the offense from telling a running back to not score at the end of this game? Or, better yet, would Rolle’s presence have resulted in better clock management at the end of a loss to the Patriots? We have our doubts.

Leadership may have been lacking and Rolle is known for keeping things loose with hilarious comments, but allowing him to sign with Chicago did not cost the Giants four wins.
