Aqib Talib thinks Broncos can repeat as Super Bowl champions

Aqib Talib

Count Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib as one of those confident that Denver can repeat in 2016.

Talib appeared on ESPN’s Sportscenter on Monday, and he said that the Broncos can absolutely win the Super Bowl again, even with their current crop of quarterbacks.

“I think as long as the quarterbacks put in the work and listen to coach (Kubiak), if we put in that same work, I don’t see why we can’t repeat,” Talib said, via Troy E. Renck of the Denver Post.

Nevertheless, Talib was asked about two quarterbacks who are available and linked to the Broncos: Colin Kaepernick and Johnny Manziel.

“Who knows? We need to get him in that locker room and get him around the guys and see how it goes,” Talib said of Kaepernick. “(San Francisco) came to our facility last year (for dual practices during training camp), and he’s a good quarterback. He has one of the strongest arms in the league, and we already know what he can do with his legs. He has to be interested a little bit.”

Talib characterized Manziel as “a pretty good quarterback” and said that he’d have no problem if he joined the team, and emphasized that he completely trusts John Elway to make the right decision for the position.

“It’s a good thing we’ve got John Elway. He does a great job of putting teams together,” Talib said. “He doesn’t only bring guys in for their talent. He brings in guys on how he believes they will mesh with the team. I have been in locker rooms where guys get off work and you don’t see them. In this locker room, everyone meshes really well. That’s a credit to John Elway.”

Are you ready for the Sanchize, Aqib? One of your teammates may not be, but perhaps your optimism can help turn opinion in his favor.
