Aqib Talib, Derek Wolfe on track to return after Broncos’ bye

Aqib Talib

Both Aqib Talib and Derek Wolfe are set to miss the Denver Broncos’ game on Sunday against the New Orleans Saints, but the good news is both players are on track to return for the team’s next game.

Broncos head coach Gary Kubiak said Friday both defensive cornerstones should be ready to return in Week 12, which will be the team’s next game.

“Yeah, I would say very much so. Until we get there … but … I sure as hell hope so. I think they’re close. I think we’re lucky with Derek. And Aqib has kind of been trending in that direction the whole time,” Kubiak said via 9 News Denver’s Mike Klis.

Talib has been out the team’s past two games with a back injury, so this will be his third straight missed game. However, thanks to the team’s bye week, he should have another week of rest before returning to the field.

Wolfe suffered a fractured elbow against the Raiders in Week 9. The fracture is being described as hairline, and he was called day-to-day.

Denver’s defense is ranked 4th in the league in yards allowed and 8th in points allowed this season.
