Aqib Talib ‘feels great’ after being shot in leg, should be ready by camp

Aqib Talib

Denver Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib expects to be ready for the start of training camp later this month despite being shot in the leg earlier in the offseason.

In his first public appearance since being shot in the right calf on June 5, Talib told Cameron Wolfe of The Denver Post at T.J. Ward’s charity golf tournament that he “feels great” and should be ready to roll when veterans report to camp on July 27. Talib added that he has been “back running and everything.” He did not appear to be sporting a pronounced limp.

Dallas police recently said they were searching for an “unknown suspect” in connection to the Talib shooting. Few details are known about the incident, but it’s clear that Talib was fortunate the injury was not more serious. He was reportedly not much help when interviewed by police, and it sounds like a lot of alcohol was involved.

The NFL is likely conducting its own investigation, so it’s unclear if Talib could face disciplinary action from the league.
