Aqib Talib signs big contract with Denver Broncos

Aqib Talib cigar

Aqib Talib is getting paid. Big money. And he’s the second Patriot in two seasons to leave New England for the rival Broncos.

The Denver Broncos have reached an agreement with Talib on a six-year, $57 million deal that includes $26 million guaranteed, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports.

Talib was a shutdown corner for the New England Patriots and expected to be a difference-maker in their AFC Championship Game meeting with the Broncos last season, but he got hurt after colliding with Wes Welker on a rub play and missed most of the game.

Apparently there are no hard feelings between Talib and the Broncos. Either that, or there weren’t any feelings $57 million couldn’t fix.

We wrote earlier on Tuesday that the Patriots could make a run at Darrelle Revis. We fully expect them to intensify their pursuit of the All-Pro DB as soon as he becomes available.
